Okay, okay, OKAY! So I KNEW this would happen. I started a blog and only posted twice in the past year! I would like to start blogging more because I AM PREGNANT!!! I can't believe it! Really? Me? Pregnant? This is just so exciting!!! I have always known that being a mommy one day was a MUST for me. I even made sure that this is something Bo wanted before I married him. I just don’t think I would ever feel complete if I never had a family of my own.
So this is how it happened: Bo and I were on vacation in Europe with Pat and Mike (in-laws) back in October. Towards the end of our trip I started feeling a little different. I was feeling nauseous and tired. I also noticed I was making more trips to the restroom. While we were visiting the Coliseum in Rome I had a dizzy spell and just needed to chill out for a while. This is when I KNEW something was going on. When we got back to the hotel room I Google’d “symptoms of early pregnancy”. Sure enough, I had pretty much every symptom listed.
When we returned to the states the first thing I did was take a pregnancy test. I was SURPRISED and ECSTATIC to see that it came out positive. I really couldn’t believe my eyes to be honest with you. Bo had no idea I had taken the test. He was eating dinner (Mission Burrito) when I had gone down stairs to tell him. We were both shocked and excited. After absorbing the news we drove to CVS and purchased every brand of pregnancy test available. I took 2 more tests the same night and 2 the day after. All tests came out positive. It suddenly became real. We were going to have our first BABY! I made an appointment with my gynecologist and he was only available on October 26, 2011. This is my birthday!!! He confirmed that I was 4 weeks pregnant. We had dinner plans with our parents that night and told them the great news. They were THRILLED.
I keep telling my husband this has been the best birthday gift he has given me. We are overjoyed with happiness and we look forward to this next chapter in our lives.
